What does Bliss mean to you?
Bliss is the Absolute state of pure consciousness that universally underlies everything. It is the un-manifested cosmic womb. No-one can feel bliss since it is un-manifest. So rather, through various ways, contact bliss, then that bliss will become blissful and then that you can experience. It is heavenly for your nervous system to be blissful.
What are your secrets for invoking Bliss in every day life?
The most easy and effective way for me to contact bliss, without a doubt, is practicing Vedic Meditation twice a day. This profound (and effortless) mediation technique navigates my mind directly to bliss and then bathes in it. Other secrets are when my mind is saturated with happiness in the loving company of friends, family and especially my gurus. Another way I invoke bliss is by correcting my intellect to recognise my individual role in the universe (dharma). This creates fearlessness which is the basis of bliss.
How do you share your Bliss with others?
When myself maintains that blissful feeling (by regularly contacting bliss), then bliss radiates to others around me and beyond, in whatever situation, it could be walking on the beach or when I walk into a classroom. More specifically, when I do body treatments on people or feel their pulse, I am in the zone and trigger an invitation in their physiology to remember and enliven bliss. And when I love someone as an expression of the divine, bliss is so pervasive and unity is experienced.
What has been your most profound experience with plant medicine?
There has been quite a few mostly involving Ayurvedic plant medicines administered by my teachers. But one that comes to mind as we talk about bliss, is doing a preventative treatment for my eyes called “Netra Tarpana” during Panchakarma (an Ayurvedic detox and rejuvenation program). This treatment involves me lying down on my back and wearing “goggles” made out of dough, but with no top or lens. Then warm medicated ghee is filled into the goggles for me to open my eyes under and move them in all directions. It’s like opening your eyes under water, but it’s medicated ghee. I did this treatment for about 11 days in a row, and it lasted from anywhere from 15 – 45 mins. I had such blissful experiences of my brain being nourished by mother nature. My brain was lubricated and bathing in unctuous nectar. I was feeling so high (and a little out of it). This happens as the ghee penetrates into the optic and vagus nerve and the whole head, neck and throat region. I could feel the vibrations and prana (life-force) of the precious herbs, the love and care and flow of consciousness of my teachers procuring the herbs with ghee. And after the treatment, you are not allowed to look into light or screens, so all I was left to do was meditate without worrying about time and continued the bliss.5
